Friday night, April 7, 2017 found the Hurst Conference Center alive with energy. Guests were welcomed by an open bar, a small but captivating silent and live auction, and key raffle prizes!

Started from humble beginnings as an event attended by 200 of our closest friends and raising just about $40,000. But, as with all good things…change is inevitable. “Thanks for the Memories” was rebranded as the Fort Worth Memory Gala in 2015 and this event ushered in a new era for the Alzheimer’s Association – North Central Texas Chapter. Over its 16 year history, this event has grown to an event attended this year by over 450 guests that raised over $325,000 to help fund research and support services. Our goal is to exceed $350,000 at the 2018 event and we need your help.

Looking to the future is what we do best at the Alzheimer’s Association. Anticipating what might happen with the latest research breakthrough gives us hope that the next generation might indeed live in a world without Alzheimer’s. Until that breakthrough occurs, we are dedicated to serving as a resource and support for those families who are dealing with Alzheimer’s on a daily basis.

With events like the Memory Gala we are making dramatic strides toward serving more clients throughout North Central Texas. Our FY16 Annual Report gives an overview of the numbers we served. Each number represents an individual with Alzheimer’s or their caregiver. Every number represents a personal story, struggle, and ultimately, loss.

Securing the future won’t be easy and we cannot win this battle alone. It will take the whole community pulling together to solve such a vast problem. As you plan your 2018 charitable contributions, please consider supporting the Memory Gala as we work to end this terrible disease.
